It was ninety-one days away from home with Iceland being the first stop. The Faroe Islands followed(my favorite alongside Iceland) , and then Copenhagen, Hong Kong, and many provinces in China from Guangdong to Guangxi to Yunnan, Hunan, Jiangxi, and then a short one day trip to Macau. There was also Taipei, Taichung, Hualien in Taiwan, and Hanoi with a one day trip to Ha Long Bay and a two day trip to Sapa for trekking. After Northern Vietnam was Seoul - the city that really does not sleep with clubbing until the sunrise and Korean barbecue until the early AMs. There was also a flight to Jeju-do with the freedom of a rental car for 4 days to explore the whole island. The last stop on the trip was Japan. From Tokyo to Osaka to Kyoto and then a long 12 hour train ride to Sapporo in Hokkaido.
It was a total of 12 flights - one short than originally planned because of Typhoon Hato in Hong Kong which resulted in me booking a last minute flight to leave from Vietnam directly to Seoul.
Film is still the most endearing way to remember travel because with each shutter comes the record of each grain that makes up a memory.
I wrote this draft a long time ago. On September 14, 2017 to be exact. Do I still feel the same way? In some ways, I do. In many ways, yes, I still do. I don't remember the point but the point can always change. I don't think my original intention will be accomplished and that is okay. But, it should live somewhere and here it is.
I recollect through strings of words, called run on sentences.
incorrect, but in correct. for myself.
